
When the snow melts and the valley throws of it’s Winter Coat the mountains burst into life, alpine meadows filled with wildflowers and wildlife, endless trails to hike, bike, or climb and the rivers become a playground to swim, white water raft and Canoe in. The chalet’s outdoor pool becomes the heart of summer life: a place to bask in the sunshine, savour the breath-taking views and watch the peaks glow at sunset. As the Col de Petit San Benard opens in May jump in the car, head over the pass and enjoy a wonderful lunch in Italy or explore the fantastic town of Aosta with its fantastic restaurants and shopping.

Walking & Hiking
Situated on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, Longefoy is a dream for walkers, offering everything from gentle strolls to challenging mountain hikes. In July and August, the Les Arcs lifts make it easy to access high-level trails, giving you effortless entry to breathtaking alpine scenery. And for those who prefer to be guided, our trusted walking guides run dedicated weeks where all you need to do is show up and enjoy the journey.


Cycling Holidays
The Tarentaise region is a paradise for cyclists, surrounded by some of the world’s most iconic mountain passes, many made famous by the Tour de France. From the chalet, you can ride straight onto legendary climbs like Col d’Iseran, Col du Petit St Bernard, Cormet de Roselend and Col de la Madeleine. After your ride, your bike can be stored safely in our secure garage, with a maintenance station and pumps ready for any tweaks. Vehicle support can also be arranged on request, subject to availability.
Mountain Biking
All the nearby ski resorts offer world-class mountain biking with trails for every level, and Les Arcs, with its funicular that whisks you straight up the mountain, is especially convenient from the chalet and even cyclable from the door. A dedicated cycle path links Longefoy to Bourg St Maurice and beyond, and from July to September the lifts run throughout the area, with some operating on weekends into early September, making it easy to access higher terrain.


Motorcycling the French and Italian Alps
Our chalet is the perfect base for world-class motorcycle rides. Towering peaks, smooth alpine roads and breathtaking scenery make every ride unforgettable. Tackle legendary routes like Mont Blanc, Col de l’Iseran, or Col du Petit Saint Bernard, late May is spectacular, with walls of snow lining the passes.
The roads have smooth tarmac, great grip, and little traffic, especially in June and September. After a day on the bike, relax with a BBQ by the pool and a secure garage keeps your bike safe for the next adventure.

Summer Skiing
Yes, you can still ski in summer! Head to the glacier in Tignes and Val D’isere in July or August for morning skiing, then relax, BBQ and sunbathe by the pool in the afternoon, the best of both worlds.
Water & Adventure Sports
Thrill-seekers and families will find plenty to do: white water rafting, hydrospeed, high ropes just 5 minutes away, parapenting, horse riding, sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, wakeboarding and more across Tignes Lac and local rivers. For a stunning alpine experience, Lac d’Annecy, about 1.5 hours away, offers crystal-clear water perfect for water sports.
For a slower pace, enjoy golf at local courses including Tignes, Les Arcs, and La Rosière, or try fishing in nearby lakes and rivers.
Day Trips & Excursions
Drive over the Col du Petit St Bernard into Italy for spectacular Mont Blanc views, a wander around Courmayeur and the Skyway, or a visit to the historic town of Aosta. You can also enjoy a day trip to the beautiful shores of Lake Annecy, just 1.5 hours away, or head to Chamonix, only a 2-hour drive, to explore one of the Alps’ most famous towns.
